The Summerland Golf & Country Club near Penticton requires golfers to change their swing in the middle of their round. Long, mostly open holes on the front nine let long-ball hitters unwind and go for distance on mostly flat and open fairways. By hole 7, power hitters must begin to hone their driving accuracy and approach shots to protected greens. Trees, bunkers and the ridges of Trout Creek Canyon protect the back nine’s rolling fairways and undulating greens. Holes 10 through 18 require golfers to execute accurate shots that were practiced earlier on Summerland’s 300-yard driving range; time spent on our practice putting green will help golfers putt the back nine’s undulating greens. Golf partners can swap stories about mulligans and duffed chip shots in the friendly atmosphere of the Clubhouse’s Canyon View Grill. Friends, family and colleagues can also book the Clubhouse to host banquets, weddings and special events overlooking the Okanagan Valley.
